Privacy Policy – FixLP

At FixLP (https://fixlp.com), your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://fixlp.com.
For any privacy-related questions, you can contact us at get@fixlp.com.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on FixLP, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval, your profile picture (if any) is visible with your comment.

Media

If you upload images to FixLP, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from images.

Cookies

  • If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to fill in your details again. These cookies last one year.

  • If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to check if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

  • When you log in, we set up cookies to save your login info and display preferences. Login cookies last two days; screen options cookies last one year. If you select “Remember Me,” login will persist for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.

  • If you edit or publish an article, a cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on FixLP may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves just as if you visited that site directly.

These external sites may collect data, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with their content.

Who We Share Your Data With

We don’t hand over your personal information to third parties unless it’s one of these specific situations.

  • Advertising Partners: FixLP shows ads to help cover costs and keep things free (or cheap) for everyone. We partner with ad networks like Google AdSense, Ezoic, and possibly others like them. These services use cookies, tracking pixels, and similar tools to show you ads that might match your interests, based on things like what pages you’ve looked at, your device, and your IP address. They can also pull in data from other sites you’ve visited to make ads more relevant. If you’d rather not see personalized ads, you can turn them off in a few places: Google’s own ad settings page (myadcenter.google.com), or through the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out tool (youradchoices.com or thenai.org opt-out section). For the full scoop on what these partners do, check their own privacy policies directly—Google’s is at policies.google.com/privacy, and Ezoic’s is at ezoic.com/privacy-policy.
  • Password Reset Requests: If you ask us to reset your password, we’ll include the IP address tied to that request right in the email we send. It’s just for security—so you can see if the request came from somewhere familiar.

We might also use a handful of other third-party tools for everyday stuff like site analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), sending emails, or catching spam (e.g., Akismet). In those cases, we only share what’s actually needed for the tool to work, and it’s usually anonymized or kept to the bare minimum.

How Long We Retain Your Data

  • Comments you leave on FixLP stick around forever, along with basic metadata (your name, email, IP address, etc.). It just helps us spot your follow-up comments and approve them quickly without extra moderation steps.
  • If you create an account here, we hold onto the info you give us in your profile—like your name, email, and anything else you add. You can log in anytime to view, update, or delete most of it (usernames are the one thing we can’t touch). Admins can see this data too, but only for running the site and helping users.

Basically, we hang onto data only as long as it’s helpful for keeping FixLP going or if the law says we have to.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

Got an account or left comments? You can email us to get a copy of whatever personal data we’re holding on you—we’ll package it up nicely and send it over. You can also ask us to wipe your personal data from our end.

That said, there are a few things we might have to keep (like essential logs for security, legal reasons, or stuff our ad partners handle under their own rules).

Just shoot your request to get@fixlp.com—we’ll get back to you fast.

Where Your Data Is Sent

We run comments through an automated spam checker before they go live. That means services like Akismet might see your comment text, name, email, and IP to flag if it’s junk or worse.

For ads, things like your IP address, browser details, and pages you visit can get sent over to our ad partners (AdSense, Ezoic, etc.) so they can serve up targeted ads properly.

Everything else stays inside the hosting and tools we use to run FixLP—no random sharing beyond what’s listed here or needed to keep the site working.

This should feel genuine and easy to read now—no robotic vibes. If it still doesn’t quite hit the mark (too formal, too casual, missing something specific), or if you want to tweak the ad examples/opt-out wording, just say the word!
